Jake Arrieta ended the regular season with a loss at Pittsburgh when he allowed seven runs and 10 hits in five innings, and September was his second worst month of the season as he had a 4.60 ERA. Arrieta was not quite as effective on the road where his ERA was 3.59 cpmpared to 2.62 at home. In his last start against San Francisco, the Cubs lost 3-2 as Arrieta gave up three runs and four hits in six innings. The Giants have won nine elimination games in a row, and Madison Bumgarner has a 0.88 ERA his last two postseasons. Bumgarner shut out the Mets 3-0 in the Wild Card Playoff game, he's 2-0 against the Cubs this season, and the Giants have won his last four starts against them. This is a very low posted total due to Bumgarner's posteseason success. However, Arrieta is 11-2-3 OVER his last 16 road starts, and the Cubs have gone OVER six of their last seven road games overall. Bumgarner has gone OVER four of his last five home outings because of the low posted totals. Look for these trends to continue. Play the Giants and the OVER.
