Chicago is playing out the string having lost seven of nine while scoring only 12 runs its last five games. New York has won six of the past eight meetings and has Chris Bassitt on the mound tonight and he owns a 13-7 record and 3.24 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. The Mets have won his last eight starts and he has allowed more than two earned runs in just two of them, including a 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh on Wednesday when Bassitt allowed one run on five hits in seven innings. The three Cub hitters that have faced Bassitt are a combined 1-for-15 against him.
