Jake Arrieta, the 2015 Cy Young Award winner, will try to continue his outstanding run from the second half of last season, including an 8-0 record and 0.27 ERA in his last nine starts. The right-hander was 13-1 with a 1.60 ERA on the road with 129 strikeouts in 124 innings. He was bothered by a blister on his thumb in spring training, but appeared to be fine in his last outing. Garrett Richards comes off a 15-12 season, including 10-4 with a 2.92 ERA at home. However, the Angels are only slightly improved after their third place finish in 2015 while the Cubs are the favorites to win it all. Look for Arrieta to pick up where he left off and play the Cubs.
