Chicago lost on a walk-off by the Reds on Tuesday night, but the Cubs still have won seven of their past nine games and September was their best month of the season. Adrian Sampson was one of the reasons. The Cubs have won his last four starts and he has allowed only three runs on 17 hits his last 25 innings, including a 6-1 win over Cincinnati on Friday when he gave up a run on three hits in seven innings. Sampson has faced the Reds three times this year and has allowed just four runs in 17 innings. Cincinnati has lost Graham Ashcraft's last four starts and he didn't make it through the third inning against the Cubs five days ago. Chicago has won 31 of 46 versus teams with winning percentages below .400 and it has won eight of its last 11 road games. The Reds are on the verge of losing 100 games. Take the Cubs.
