Boston at Texas

Boston is holding on to the lead in the AL East. They are coming into this one off a 5-4 win over the Royals as Mookie Betts slammed three solo homers and J.D. Martinez also homered for Boston's third win in four games. Now they face Texas, which is last in the AL West and the Red Sox have beaten the Rangers in six of the last seven meetings. Texas is playing its first home game following a 3-3 trip, which ended with a 12-4 loss at Cleveland. Mike Minor is 2-1 with a 4.33 ERA and allowed four runs on nine hits in six innings at Toronto on Friday. Boston has won 19 of its last 26 road contests dating to last season and the Rangers have lost 20 of their last 26 home games. Also, the Rangers have lost the first game of a series 13 of the last 16 times and they have lost six of their last seven versus left-handed starters.
