The Red Sox then traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. The Red Sox, in return, got lefthander Kyle Harrison and righthander Jordan Hicks. They also got prospect James Tibbs and rookie league right-hander Jose Bello. Tonight, the Red Sox will be without Devers from an offense that has produced just 15 total runs over their last five games, but because the pitching has allowed just eight total runs over the period, Boston has won all five games. Seattle comes to Boston off a 3-game sweep of the Guardians, allowing just five total runs. Both these teams are trending down offensively, while both pitching staffs have been great.
