Boston at Las Vegas

Jon Lester has been awful on the road of late, posting a 1-5 mark with an 8.54 ERA. He owns the worst road ERA in the majors since May 20th. That's good news for an Oakland offense that is average. Even with this mediocre offense, the Athletics have gone 28-15 at home thanks to allowing opponents to score just 3.8 runs per game. Boston takes care of business vs. bad teams, but they just don't get it done vs. the good ones. Dating back to last season, the Red Sox are just 32-49 vs. teams at .540 or betters. They are 37-56 over that span vs. teams with a bullpen ERA of 3.33 or better. And, they are 35-63 vs. AL starting pitchers with an ERA under 4.00. Lester, for his part is just 18-25 over that span vs. winning teams. Back the A's in this one.
