Boston at New York

Boston stole Game 1 of this series on Friday night, 5-3, and now sends Ranger Suarez to the mound in the afternoon finale. Suarez has been serviceable this season with a 3.38 ERA, but he's backing a lineup that's done little to support him — the Red Sox sit 27-35 and last in the AL East, a team that's been built better than it's played. New York answers with Cam Schlittler, who has spent the first two months of 2026 turning himself into one of the better starters in the American League. His 1.89 ERA is second in the AL, and his WHIP leads all qualified starters in the league. One short outing last time out is the only blemish on a dominant stretch. Play the Yankees this afternoon.
