Boston at Minnesota

Boston wasn't expected to contend this season, but the Red Sox are off to a 6-3 start and come off a 14-9 victory over Baltimore on Sunday. J.D. Martinez hit three home runs and the Sox banged out 17 hits for their sixth straight win while averaging 8.8 runs in that span. Minnesota lost its second in a row 8-6 to Seattle while blowing a 6-0 lead. Martin Perez goes for Boston today and Minnesota hitters are batting just .159 with a miniscule .238 slugging percentage against him in 76 at-bats. Perez gave up three runs in five innings his first start and Boston eventually won 6-5 in 12 innings. J.A. Happ got through four innings against Detroit on Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to Detroit.
