Boston at Detroit

One pitch was the undoing of Detroit on Thursday as Adam Duvall hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the sixth to give Boston a 6-3 win over the Tigers. They had the day off yesterday and the Tigers will look to bounce back against the Red Sox, who are only 3-4 and they have scored eight runs in three games after scoring 33 their first four. Joey Wentz goes for Detroit and he gave up three runs on four hits in five innings against Tampa Bay on Sunday. Tanner Houck will make his second start for Boston after he allowed three runs on five hits, including two home runs, in five innings versus Baltimore. The Tigers have won nine of 13 against right-handed starters dating to last season and they are 17-7-4 UNDER their past 28 home games and 41-16-5 UNDER against AL East teams.
