Boston was a bust in the first half of the season, then played very well the last two months. The young kids hit alongside veteran David Ortiz, and even the pitching improved. The Red Sox are third in baseball in runs scored and on-base percentage, plus seventh in slugging. Red Sox starter Rick Porcello is trying to come up with a strong end to a disappointing first season in Boston and is 4-3 with a 3.22 ERA in seven starts since coming off the disabled list on August 26. Boston is 5-2 against a righty starter while the Indians are 1-4 at home against a right-handed starter. This Cleveland offense is weak, 18th in runs scored, and the Indians are 3-7 following a win.
