Baltimore at Tampa Bay

When you look at what is happening in Baltimore, you can get a sense that this is a special season. They are slowly working their way to the top of both leagues, and now trail the LA Angels by a scant two games for the best overall record. Tampa Bay looks like an emotionally drained team, one that fell to a season low 18 games under .500 in June only to rally all the way back to .500. It took its toll and this team has fallen back sharply since, slipping back to seven games under .500 and out of the race. The Birds have been locked-in against right-handers where they own a sizzling 35-17 mark in their last 52, and overall as a team Baltimore is 40-18 in their last 58 games. The Rays are just 3-9 in Cobb's last 12 starts on regular four days rest. Baltimore gets the call in this one.
