Baltimore at Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay has been humming for the better part of two weeks, winning nine of its last ten and sitting at 74-48 heading into the getaway day matinee. Baltimore, at 60-63, has been treading water for months, and there's nothing in this specific matchup that points to the Orioles snapping out of it against a team playing this clean. Trevor Rogers gets the ball for Baltimore and has actually pitched well since June, working to a much sharper number than his season ERA suggests, but that improvement has come mostly against soft competition and doesn't erase the gap between these two rosters right now. Freddy Peralta takes the mound for Tampa Bay in just his second turn since arriving at the deadline, and his welcome to the organization was a rough one on the road at Coors Field. He's back on his own mound this afternoon, with a deep pitching staff and a lineup that's been doing the heavy lifting all month behind him.
