Baltimore at Boston

Boston is riding the second-longest winning streak in franchise history, 14 in a row after outlasting Baltimore 6-5 on Caleb Durbin's go-ahead homer in the eighth last night, a game that also snapped the Orioles' own season-best seven-game run. One more win ties the 1946 club record. Ranger Suarez gets the ball for that shot tonight, back from a groin strain that cost him the All-Star Game, and while there's always some rust to shake off a first start back, his season line before the injury was legitimate: a 3.15 ERA and strikeout numbers that rank among the better marks in the league. Kyle Bradish is a real problem for Boston on the other side, a 3.61 ERA righty who's been sharp lately, allowing one earned run over six-plus innings his last time out against Kansas City, and that's worth saying plainly before backing the favorite here. But a team playing with this much conviction, at home, chasing a franchise record, is a hard team to bet against regardless of who's on the mound across from them. Side with Boston tonight.
