Arizona at Pittsburgh

Arizona and Pittsburgh needed extra innings to settle it last night, a 3-2 Pirates win that summed up how tight this series has been so far. Both bullpens took real work getting there, Arizona leaning on Morillo, Loaisiga, and Clarke, Pittsburgh matching with four relievers of its own, so neither pen enters tonight fully fresh. Brandon Pfaadt has quietly been outstanding across his last five starts, allowing two earned runs or fewer in each of them, and Bubba Chandler counters after the best start of his season last time out, six-plus innings without allowing a run against the Yankees. Pittsburgh's offense has scored more than Arizona's this year and owns the better run differential even with matching 55-52 records, and I won't paper over that gap. But this number only needs Arizona to avoid a two-run loss, and a series that just produced a one-run extra-innings game with two pitchers this locked in points toward another low-margin night rather than a laugher either way.
