Shohei Ohtani takes the mound for his final pitching start before the All-Star break, and he's been the best two-way weapon in the sport all year, with an 8-2 record and a 1.79 ERA that ranks among the very best marks in baseball. He already has one look at Arizona this season, six shutout innings with just two hits allowed, and Arizona's lineup hasn't given anyone many reasons to fear it since. The Diamondbacks are running a team OPS below league average, one of the softer offenses in the league, and even a quality start from Eduardo Rodriguez, who's been excellent in his own right with a 2.21 ERA, only keeps this game close if Arizona can actually put runs on the board. I backed the Diamondbacks as recently as four days ago, and it cashed, but this is a different animal: a pitcher who's already dominated this same lineup once, and a Los Angeles staff that ranks among the best in baseball at limiting runs. I like the Dodgers to handle business at home tonight.
