Arizona at Kansas City

Last week I had Arizona at plus money against Philadelphia, and the Diamondbacks delivered a 2-0 shutout that snapped a rough patch. They've carried that form forward, taking the final two games of their series in Houston to enter today on a two-game winning streak. Arizona is 76-68 on the year, a dozen wins better than a Kansas City club sitting at 64-80. The Royals have dropped four of their last six, including a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Toronto before salvaging the finale, and they counter with Noah Cameron, a serviceable arm at 9-8 with a 4.08 ERA but nothing that separates him from the pack. Arizona's staff has posted a team ERA more than half a run better than Kansas City's all season, and even with Derek Law going today, that depth gap runs deeper than a near coin-flip price suggests. Kansas City is treading water in a lost season, and Arizona is the healthier team by just about every measure that matters here. Arizona is the play on the moneyline this afternoon.
