We cashed on Toronto as a home underdog against Boston last week, and I like going back to that same well again tonight against the Yankees. New York sends its ace to the mound in Cam Schlittler, who is having a huge season at 10-6 with a 2.21 ERA and better than a strikeout per inning, and that's the strongest argument against this side. But Toronto isn't countering with a rotation regular. Braydon Fisher has made just seven starts all year, working mostly out of the bullpen, and while his 3.54 ERA across 61 innings is respectable for a swingman, it's a clear downgrade from what New York is sending out, and the number reflects the names on the mound more than the two teams underneath them. The Yankees' lineup carries real thump with a .719 team OPS, but it also leans on several regulars hitting under .220, giving Fisher some room to work even against a good lineup. This home-underdog trend on Toronto is 4-2 for me this season, and I'm not stepping away from it just because New York's front-line arm is better than Toronto's. At home, catching plus money against a team that's beatable underneath the ace, I like the value tonight. Take the Blue Jays as my MLB Game of the Week.
