New York is in free fall, having lost its seventh in a row, and the Mets are in danger of missing the playoffs. New York's pitching has fallen apart as it has allowed 34 runs in four games. Patrick Corbin has shown some inconsistency recently for Texas, but he comes off a 4-2 win against Houston when he gave up a run on three hits in 5 2/3 innings. The Mets were hoping to catch lightning in a bottle as Severino, when he was healthy, was a top of the rotation pitcher. The Mets are just 6-7 in his 13 decisions. The Texas Rangers went from World Series Champions to a team that no longer resembles their former selves. The Rangers are 33-39 on the season.
