Milwaukee Brewers vs Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay plays its fifth straight road game on a 4-8 run. They're 19th in runs scored, 22nd in on-base percentage, and 23rd in slugging. Milwaukee will look to Freddy Peralta to snap a three-game skid for the Brewers and he also wants to redeem himself after being the loser in a 18-1 loss to St. Louis on Monday when he allowed six runs in 5 1/3 innings. However, he pitched well his three previous starts wheh he gave up just five runs in 18 innings so the game against the Cardinals appears to be an outlier. Peralta has faced the Rays once and they are a combined 3-for-16 against him with one home run. Jalen Beeks will start for Tampa Bay, but will probably go only a couple innings in what will be a bullpen game for the Rays, who have cooled off somewhat after that hot start and they have split their past 10 games. Milwaukee lost a pitching duel on Friday night when Adrian Houser pitched six scoreless innings, but the Rays came through with a run in the eighth to win it 1-0. The Brewers have Eric Lauer going today and he gave up two runs on two hits in 5 1/3 innings in a 9-6 victory over Kansas City on Sunday. Lauer has done his best work on the road this year with a 3-1 record and 1.90 ERA and .214 opponent batting average. Lauer also is 3-0 with a .177 OBA in day games and this game has a late afternoon start. Zach Eflin has been shaky his past two starts for Tampa Bay giving up four runs on seven hits in six innings each time. Milwaukee's bullpen has been decent with 10 saves and a 1.29 WHIP this season and the Brewers still have won seven of the past nine meetings and they are 10-3 in interleague road games.
