Los Angeles Angels vs Seattle Mariners Betting Picks

Reid Detmers takes a legitimate 3.47 ERA to the mound tonight, one of the better lines in the American League this season. That doesn't change what's around him: the Angels are the worst team in baseball by record, 61-98 and 18 games under .500, and his excellence over three of his last four turns hasn't moved that number. Seattle isn't good either at 74-85, but the gap in support behind each pitcher is real. Both bullpens have been shelled in the last week, with Los Angeles allowing nine runs in one loss and Seattle seven in another, and once Detmers leaves the game, the Angels hand the ball to the same relief group that's been bleeding runs all month. Bryce Miller gets the start for Seattle off a scoreless final tune-up, five and a third innings, and the Mariners have enough life in the lineup at home to keep that bullpen working late into this one. I like the total to keep climbing once both relief corps get exposed, and I'll side with the better all-around team at home on the moneyline even against the sharper arm tonight. Seattle is the play on the moneyline, and I'm taking the OVER right alongside it.
