Detroit miraculously is in the playoff hunt after winning 15 of 21 and it is starting Keider Montero, who has pitched well since the beginning of August. The Tigers have won four of his past five starts while he has allowed 14 runs in 33 innings. Yu Darvish had two rough outings for San Diego at the end of May giving up 10 runs (nine earned) on 15 hits in juts 8 2/3 innings and the Padres lost both by a combined score of 17-1. He then went on the injured list with a left groin strain following by being placed on the restricted list due to a personal matter. Darvish surprisingly has pitched better on the road this season than at Petco Park, where he owns a 3.89 ERA and a .242 opponent batting average (as opposed to 1.59 and .153 on the road). Detroit is getting huge line value in this matchup. Take the Tigers as a Max Play.
