Chicago White Sox vs Philadelphia Phillies

The Chicago White Sox took the series opener from the Phillies 6-2 last night. The White Sox are better than they were last year, but not enough to make a significant difference. The Phillies' bats this season tend to disappear the deeper they are into a road trip. From their 4th straight game on the road and on, they are 22-9 to the UNDER. The White Sox, as a big dog from +150 and up, are 33-24 to the UNDER as they don't seem to generate enough runs to push totals OVER. Make the play on the UNDER.

Chicago has the worst record in the majors along with the worst run differential (minus-65). The offense is last in runs scored, on-base percentage, and slugging, plus just 26th in steals. The pitching is almost as bad, 26th in ERA (4.83) with a bullpen that ranks 23rd in WHIP. The White Sox are 40-93 as an underdog and 10-34 in April games. Philadelphia is on a 9-3 run and plays its 10th consecutive home contest. They've routed Chicago in the first two games of this series, 7-0 and 9-5. Aaron Nola (3.47 ERA) is on the mound while the pitching staff is seventh in the majors with a 3.46 ERA.
