Boston Red Sox vs Cincinnati Reds

The Reds bullpen has a 1.21 WHIP and 19 saves. Boston has lost five of six interleague games as an underdog and the Red Sox have stayed UNDER five straight versus NL Central teams. Cincinnati will try to make it two in a row after its 5-2 win on Friday night when Jeimer Candelario hit two solo homers and the Red Sox hitters had 14 strikeouts. The Reds' relievers pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings and Boston had its five-game win streak snapped. Frankie Montas goes for Cincinnati today and except for one bad outing against the Chicago Cubs on June 9 he has kept his team in the game his past eight starts. The Reds have gone UNDER five in a row as underdogs and they are 5-0 UNDER their past five home games against teams with winning records. Also, the Reds are 11-1 UNDER their past 12 games overall and 41-31 UNDER on the season. Nick Pivetta is 4-4 with a 3.88 ERA for Boston. The Boston Red Sox have found some success in recent games. After taking th final two games fom the Yankees they followed up by sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays three straight games. This is a tough spot for Boston as they have won the first three games of this road trip and have to head to Cincinnati for a three game weekend set. I think this is a big letdown spot to a tried team. The Reds enter the series off of four losses in their last five games. There is some value here as the Reds will hopefully get refreshed by the crowd in the opener of their homestand. The Cincinnati pitching has allowed just two total runs in their last two games. I like Cincinnati.
