2nd pick: #3 (N.Y.Smoke) (8-1) - Stakes placed twice last year at Northlands Park, he broke his maiden there going six furlongs on the dirt Sept 23. Sent in for almost a 6.5 month layoff, he rallied to finish third here at this level going 6.5-furlongs on the main track when returning April 4. Son of 'Smoke Glacken' had some early traffic issues in that start and did well once in stride. Can factor at a square price.
3rd pick: #6 (Taste's Secret) (5-2) - Speedy gelding is another moving to the turf and trying a two-turn distance. He tired last out sprinting on the dirt after pressing the pace of an eventual long gone winner. Steady performer should be involved from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #1 (Lord Vancouver) (3-1) - He's been competitive in two of his last three here racing on the grass. Canadian bred has the rail, a flexible style, and his experience on the turf is an obvious plus.
