He's run well here in the past and missed by just under a length here in March the last time he ran at this $5,000 claiming price.
2nd pick: #2 (War Code) (6-1) - He tired badly here at this tag and trip Oct. 24th in his first back from a two-month layoff. Gelding draws a much better post and finished 2nd on the local dirt at this distance a bit more than a year ago.
3rd pick: #4 (Writer's Cause) (20-1) - Longshot hasn't shown much to date, but is working fast for his first since Aug. 6th. Cal bred is from a capable barn (Ty Garrett) and will take them as far as he can.
4th pick: #7 (Prince of Prague) (5-1) - One of two from the Silva barn, and the pair race uncoupled. Nicely bred 4yo moves from grass to dirt and drops back down in class in his second off a two-month break.
5th pick: #10 (Roi Soleil) (7-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, he finished a distant 2nd here at this tag and trip Oct. 24th. This is his 25th attempt, but does have some of the best form in this field. Arizona bred is 16-0-4-5 locally and is an obvious contender at a very short price. His outside post is a big minus.
