Lightly raced 3yo rallied through traffic to check in 5th of seven, beaten by 2.5 lengths racing here March 14. It was his second back from a seven-week break and a career best overall. Think he's sitting on his best yet.
2nd pick: #3 (Short of Money) (5-1) - Grey gelding comes here from Santa Anita where he raced evenly in both starts facing tougher. Away poorly in each, Cal bred has a new trainer (Wade Rarick, 25% with new arrivals), and he's worked him three times locally. Barn drops him way down in class, and he's a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Chance For Glory) (2-1) - The morning line favorite, colt rallied to miss by a 'neck' here at this level at odds of 36-1 March 9. By far a career best, he's an obvious threat with a repeat of it, but he'll be 3-1 or under this afternoon.
4th pick: #7 (Keepin It Lucky) (8-1) - Longshot doesn't have any early speed, but against this particular group is capable of getting a share at a big price. A fast and/or contested pace would help his chances.
