A 4yo by 'Gio Ponti' she stretching out in distance after an even effort at this level going five furlongs at Gulfstream Park Feb. 20. It was her first since Oct. 4, first on the grass, and a career best. Delacour has breezed her twice here since March 20, and he wins at a solid 30% on the stretch out in distance.
2nd pick: #5 (Saffira) (7-2) - A 4yo filly by 'Street Cry,' she raced twice in England last fall before coming back to her country of birth. Competitive on one of those, she was in the top barn of John Gosden and is now with 'Hall of Famer' Bill Mott. He scratched her at Gulfstream the other day to await this spot, is adding lasix here, and she's a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Wrong Color) (3-1) - She's adding blinkers while moving back with her own sex for this attempt. Home bred raced evenly when finishing 4th of nine, beaten by five lengths facing males March 15 in what was her first ever on the grass. An obvious contender.
4th pick: #9 (Moments to Saver) (5-1) - A $120,000 daughter of 'Super Saver,' she raced evenly when beaten by five lengths when debuting here at this level and distance March 9. From a capable barn (Derek Ryan), he brings her back in 25 days, and she can factor with normal second out improvement.
5th pick: #2 (Vaunt) (4-1) - The second of the Delacour trained fillies, she's a debuting 4yo by 'Street Boss.' He wins at a 16% rate first time out, has his main local rider Dan Centeno aboard, and this 4yo has breezed here five times since Feb. 18. She's dangerous if ready.
