(# 7) EQUITABLE - Looms as the horse to beat for the red-hot Mott barn. Probable favorite, could have escaped this maiden condition by now, if not for a wide trip in debut run and a troubled journey in start No. 2. Working well and the extra eighth of a mile here is to his advantage.

(# 5) Inquisitive - Had a nine-furlong race on the dirt, and trainer Shug McGaughey sends him back to the grass today. Lightly raced, he just missed on this turf as a two-year-old. Has a trio of strong training track drills since the dirt race.

(# 11) Kaishu - Four-year-old should be able to clear with the long run to the first turn at this 1 3/16 mile distance. Good drill since his last effort, and this makes start number three since last year.

(#'s 8 and 9) Pure Revenge and Grand Strike - This duo should be used on the bottoms of tris, supers and exactas if you play those type bets.
