Top pick: #6 (TURBULENT DESCENT) - She ran a gallant 2nd at Belmont June 11th in the G1 Acorn S. as she rated early in her first ever on a "sloppy" track, rallied when asked, but proved no match for "It's Tricky" who returned to win the C.C.A. Oaks(G2) here on July 23. Filly was sent back to California after that race and was working fast at Del Mar before heading east again. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (American Lady) - Lightly raced grey filly by "Stormy Atlantic" has won two of thrre on the west coast and in her loss finished 2nd to the talented "Rumor". Working very fast for the Baffert barn, and she broke her maiden on conventional dirt at Santa Anita when debuting April 16. Dangerous runner.
3rd pick: #4 (Coax Liberty) - The fields most experienced filly ran a career best at Belmont when she rallied to win a small stakes at this distance July 15. Race was her first in three months and this strong finisher should get a fast pace to close into this afternoon. Big price is expected.
4th pick: #7 (Pomeroy's Pistol) - Always tries hard and in her latest finished 2nd to today's rival Her Smile in the G1 Prioress S. at Belmont July 4. Stalker won the G2 Forward Gal earlier this year at Gulfstream and is a threat in this spot.
