Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (GOING FOR BROKE) (9-5) - Lightly raced 4yo missed by a 'neck' here in the $100,000 Shine Again Stakes going seven furlongs Aug. 2. It was her first race since late November and should set her up perfectly for this longer attempt. She finished 2nd here a year ago in the G1 Alabama Stakes and should beat this group.
2nd pick: #1 (Verve's Tale) (3-1) - Speed/stalker has been freshened up since an even effort at Belmont Park June 10 in the Ogden Phipps Stakes (G1). She has the rail, is working fine, and is a threat to go gate-to-wire.
3rd pick: #3 (Fuhriously Kissed) (12-1) - Longshot moves way up in class after rallying from far back to win here July 24 facing weaker at this distance on a sloppy surface. Working fine since, 4yo will be closing strongly, but would need a career best to threaten the top two picks.
