Her overall record stands at 16-7-5-2 and she's banked just over $2M. Daughter of 'Medaglia d'Oro' seems to have improved with age and she missed by a 'neck' in this stakes a year ago. 5yo enters off a sharp win in the Delaware Handicap (G2) July 13 and has an excellent record 5-2-2-0 at today's demanding 1 1/8th mile distance. I like her chances.
2nd pick: #1 (Midnight Bisou) (6-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, she's won ten of 16 overall and is a multiple G1 winner. 4yo has won all five starts this year, Mike Smith stays aboard, and her ground saving post, combined with her stalking style, make her an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Golden Award) (8-1) - Longshot is the second of the pair from trainer Bill Mott. She was a convincing winner here at this distance in the G3 Shuvee Stakes July 21 and defeated a pair of today's rivals. 'Wow Cat' and 'She's a Julie' in the process. Lightly raced and clearly improving, she's a serious player at a big price.
4th pick: #5 (Wow Cat) (5-1) - A Chilean import, she won the Beldame Invitational (G1) at this distance Oct 6 at Belmont Park. She followed that up with a second place finish in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) at Churchill Downs Nov. 3. Unraced until July 21, she finished second, just over 2 lengths in back of 'Golden Award' here in her return. Mare has worked three times since and apears Chad Brown has her set for a big effort.
