Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (KERRY'S RING) (7-2) - She's one of two entered by trainer Chris Clement and the pair race uncoupled. A home bred by 'Kitten's Joy', she's finished second in two straight at this level, the latest going 7 furlongs at Belmont June 30. Clement stretches her out and he's having a very strong meeting 35-8-8-5 (23%). I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Marquet Legacy) (8-1) - The second of the pair from the Clement barn, she's been on the sidelines since a good effort when debuting at Belmont Oct. 24. In training here since June 26, well bred filly has Lasix added and is dangerous if ready.
3rd pick: #2 (Cape Cod Diva) (6-1) - She exits the same last race as 'Kerry's Ring' going 7 furlongs at Belmont June 20. This filly pressed a quick pace, had the lead in mid-stretch, but weakened slightly to check in third, just under a length behind that rival. She's stretching out in distance, breaks just off the rail, and is a win candidate.
4th pick: #1 (Sandra's Mine) (12-1) - A home bred by 'Mineshaft', she rallied to finish second at this level and distance at Belmont July 7. A career best, she has the rail and a fast and/or contested pace would help her chances out.
5th pick: #12 (Crescent Lady) (6-1) - A daughter of 'Scat Daddy', she was 5 lengths behind 'Kerry's ring' when debuting at Belmont May 19. In her follow up there July 7, she was a 'neck' in back of 'Sandra's Mine'. Her outside post is a negative, but she's capable of factoring if able to work out a trip.
