Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (MCKINZIE) (8-5) - As consistent as they come, this stalker has gone 11-6-4-0 with his only sub par effort coming Nov. 3 in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs. Freshened up since June 8, be had a lot of traffic issues when missing by just under a length to 'Mitole' in the G1 Met Mile at Belmont. Training fast at Del Mar before heading to Saratoga, he gets top billing.
2nd pick: #3 (Monongahela) (12-1) - Longshot has gone 4-1-2-0 since switching to the barn of Jay Servis last winter. He was a 4-length winner last out of a G3 going 8.5 furlongs June 22 at Monmouth and his early speed is dangerous at a big price if he brings his form to the Spa.
3rd pick: #8 (Preservationist) (7-2) - A very lightly raced 6yo, he was an easy 4.5 length winner of Belmont's 10-furlong Suburban Stakes (G2) July 6. He defeated the talented "Catholic Boy' that day while improving his record to 8-5-1-2. The figure earned way huge and he's a major threat if it's repeatable.
4th pick: #5 (Vino Rosso) (6-1) - This 4yo by 'Curlin' has been on the sidelines since winning the Santa Anita Gold Cup (G1) going 10 furlongs May 27. Always highly though of by Todd Pletcher, he breezed him here four times during July and this colt can factor at a square price.
