However, it was his first start since Oct. 21, and today is at a distance that he's won all three times in the past. Working fast, he won the Albany Stakes here last year and draws a good post today for his stalking style.
2nd pick: #1 (Control Group) (9-2) - Speedy veteran has the rail, is a perfect two for two at Saratoga in the past, and has won five of seven starts at this demanding nine-furlong distance. In shape, he has the rail, and leading rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard.
3rd pick: #2 (Can You Diggit) (8-1) - Longshot finished a solid 3rd here at this distance Aug. 3 facing 'open' company in a first level allowance. One run type is another who likes this trip (6-1-2-2), and I think he can grab a share at a big price.
4th pick: #7 (Pat On the Back) (5-2) - The morning line favorite, he enters in career best form. Stalker defeated several of today's rivals at Belmont July 13 and did so despite a stumbling start. He's won here in the past, is an obvious contender today, but will need his very best to beat this group.
