Top pick: #3 (CHAMPAGNE RUN) - Lightly-raced daughter of "More Than Ready" broke her maiden at Churchill on May 28 and came back 31 days later and ran fourth at this level in her first facing winners. Three-year-old had an outside post tht day and raced very wide while only beaten 4 lengths. Trainer Steve Asmussen has worked her twice since shipping here and she can "upset" the presumed heavy favorite.
2nd pick: #2 (Counterparty) - Grey filly will be heavily favored in this sprint as daughter of "Exchange Rate" was an easy wire-to-wire winner when debuting at Belmont on July 3. Working fast since, she's in the Pletcher barn and trainer comes off an outstanding weekend here at the "Spa." Obvious win candidate, but at a very short price.
3rd pick: #5 (Lady Jadana) - She rallied in to a fast pace last out at Churchill and finished second, 1 1/2 lengths in ron of "Champagne". Race was her first ever on real dirt and this 7 furlong distance should help her style. The top two picks are much more likely to win this.
