This daughter of 'War Front' has John Velazquez aboard for the first time and should receive a fast and/or contested pace to rally into. She gets a slim edge.
2nd pick: #10 (Tap Tap Taparoo) (8-1) - Longshot had serious traffic issues before tiring going a mile at this level on the local turf July 22. However, it was her first start since late November, and she most likely needed the race for conditioning purposes. $250,000 daughter of 'Tapit' cuts back in distance, and I think she can factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #5 (That's Speightful) (8-1) - She tired here after setting a pressured pace going a mile in her grass debut July 22. Only her second start, it was a nice move forward off her dirt debut June 30. Filly by 'Speightstown' is another shortening up in distance.
4th pick: #8 (Alternative Energy) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, she rallied to finish 3rd following a troubled break when debuting here at this level and distance July 29. In the barn of leading trainer Chad Brown (28% second time out), she's an obvious contender at a short price.
