Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (GENERALIST) (5-2) - He's raced evenly in a pair of starts facing tougher each at a mile. $220,000 purchase has had problems at the gate in both, but is working steadily locally and is from the barn of Chad Brown. Trainer drops him to a new low, has him shortening up in distance, and Castellano stays aboard. Three-year-old gets a slight edge.

2nd pick: #3 (Gravitating) (3-1) - Gelding tired badly as the favorite going a mile at Belmont for a $50,000 tag June 17. Claimed that afternoon by Jeremiah Englehart, he drops him well under the claimed level and shortens him up in distance. Prior to his latest, 3-year-old had finished second in four of six and did so at this 6.5-furlong trip facing tougher last September. Dangerous today.

3rd pick: #6 (The Chamo) (6-1) - Colt has been competitive in six straight without ever threatening to win. Speed/stalker runs off a private trainer switch to Gary Contessa and he had this 3-year-old work a bullet 3 furlongs here July 21.

4th pick: #7 (El Cucuy) (5-1) - Son of 'Ghostzapper' raced both wide and evenly when checking in third of nine, beaten just over 5 lengths when debuting at this tag going 6 furlongs June 14 at Belmont. Claimed that day by Michelle Nevin, she's worked him four times since and is adding blinkers. It's noted that John Velazquez is aboard and he's won with 9-of-36 (25%) when teamed up with Nevin over the past 18.5 months.
