It was his first race since Oct. 4 and his first off a private trainer change to Brad Cox. Beaten only a 1/2 length, he may have won last out if not for a serious traffic issue in mid-stretch and I give him a small edge.
2nd pick: #3 (Crazy Life) (5-2) - This $145K gelding by 'Freud' finished third at this level and distance June 9 at Belmont Park in his first since debuting here a year ago. In his follow up July 12, he again checked in third in a local contest that was taken 'off the turf'. His trainer Chad Brown is on his way to another title at Saratoga and this 3yo is a serious win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Klickitat) (3-1) - A $220,000 purchase, he rallied while wide to finish second here Aug. 1 in his first race since Dec. 30. Colt was a 1/2 length in front of a troubled 'Wayne's Footsteps' that day, has worked fast twice since, and must be left in the win mix.
