Originally with Bob Baffert, he runs today in his come-backer off a private trainer change to Steve Asmusen (22% with new arrivals). He drops him into a low-level claimer and this gelding can go gate-to-wire from his inside post.
2nd pick: #3 (Metaphorical) (3-1) - He finished second at this tag and trip at Belmont May 31 but ran wide and evenly here in the slop under similar conditions July 23. Stalker fits with this sub par group for the level and is dangerous.
3rd pick: #10 (The Chamo) (8-1) - Even-paced colt has been competitive in all seven starts since dropping into claimers this past February. He draws well for his style and was only a 'neck' in back of 'Metaphorical' June 28 at Belmont. In the mix at a square price.
4th pick: #2 (Pay the Price) (20-1) - Longshot has shown early speed in his last pair and $170K son of 'Union Rags' is capable of getting a share of this at a very big price.
