This colt by 'Union Rags'has been on the sidelines since May 18. Competitive in three of four on the grass, trainer Chad Brown has him on the main track, drops him into a claimer, and he draws a fine inside post.
2nd pick: #12 (Itsabigboy) (3-1) - Colt ships up from Gulfstream Park where he raced both wide and evenly when finishing fourth debuting there June 18 going seven furlongs. In the Pletcher barn is 31% second time out, and he drops him into a claimer (36%) and stretches him out in distance (27%). He's an obvious threat but must avoid a wide trip from his marooned post.
3rd pick: #3 (Strong Side) (5-1) - He's moving back to the main track and is another dropping into a claimer for the first time. He has more natural speed than most and has been competitive in all four previous starts on the dirt. Win candidate.
4th pick: #4 (Praise the Moon) (12-1) - Longshot moves from grass to dirt, drops a bit, and is racing with blinkers on. Fits with his best figures and 4-year-old by 'Malibu Moon' is a factor at a big price if that's the case.
