It was his first race in 100 days, first in North America, and first for trainer Patty Gallagher. Working well since, he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #9 (Mr Roary) (8-1) - Speedy sort gets some class relief after competing in four straight stakes. He upset the local Rainbow Stakes at odds of 38-1 June 18, but has tired in three follow up starts since then. In shape, working above average, and Gary Stevens gets aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #8 (Feldini) (10-1) - Well bred colt has been freshened up since breaking his maiden on the Del Mar grass at this mile distance Aug. 14th. Son of 'Twirling Candy' is still improving, has room for upside, and is working fast.
4th pick: #7 (Letithappen) (15-1) - Son of 'Mizzen Mast' ships down from Golden Gate Fields where he finished 2nd at this distance on the grass Sept. 10th. By far a career best, it came in his second race back off just under a year's layoff. Working fast and a threat at a big price.
