It was by far a career best, and it came in her second start back from an 11-month layoff. She's worked twice since and can win right back.
2nd pick: #5 (Yana) (4-1) - Mare is the only horse entered with a previous win on a wet track. Speed/stalker just held on here facing weaker March 26. It was her best overall since early October, and most all her finest races have come here at Santa Anita. Mare is 10-3-3-0 here, has a swift work April 3, and is dangerous.
3rd pick: #6 (Back Beauty) (6-1) - Another with early speed. She set a quick pace before weakening late to finish 4th here at this level March 13. Filly has twice worked very fast since then and may factor at a square price.
4th pick: #1 (My Fiona) (8-1) - She won a pair of rich stakes for Cal bred 2yos back in 2014, but has not been the same horse since coming off a 6.5-month layoff last June. Has the rail and may grab a share, but at this point she really needs to start turning it around.
