Top pick: #9 (BRIECAT) - She has the most consistent early speed and moves back to the turf after a pair of solid efforts on dirt surfaces. Valenzuela will put her on the lead and this mare will be tough to get by. The top pick in a very contentious race.
2nd pick: #6 (Lily Fa Pootz) - Tries hard every time, fits at this level and distance, and her stalking style should play well in this large field. Mare likes this surface and this particular distance. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Turning Top) - She's (9-4-1-2) since coming here from England in the fall of '09 with her only poor race coming in a contest that was washed off the turf. Graded winner finished second last Oct. in the G1 Yellow Ribbon and is working nicely for her first race in 3 1/2 months. A major factor if she's 100%.
4th pick: #11 (Evening Jewel) - Would like her more, but this post is a rough one in a talented field like this. She does have some positional speed to use and will assume that Victor Espinoza will try to get her into this from the start. Absolutely needs to avoid getting caught wide into the first turn.
