Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (DANZING CANDY) (7-2) - He had alot of potential and promise around this time last year, but has only raced twice since tiring badly in the 2016 Kentucky Derby (G1). Speedy colt finished a close up third in a small stakes here sprinting on the turf March 4. Good effort was his first race since July 2 and he's been working fast since. A stakes winner here at this trip in March of last year, he has a solid shot at upsetting the probable heavy Favorite #6 'Accelerate.'
2nd pick: #6 (Accelerate) (7-5) - The most accomplished horse entered, he enters off a close up finish herein the San Antonio Stakes (G2) Feb. 4. Colt checked in third in last year's Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) on the main track here and has been working fast for this attempt. An obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #2 (Avanti Bello) (4-1) - Veteran drops in class following a second place finish here at this distance in a minor stakes April 1. He may need a fast/and or contested pace for anything more than a minor award.
4th pick: #1 (Ike Walker) (6-1) - One of two entered by trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, he's developed into a one-run closer after having better positional speed earlier in his career. He has a ground saving post and is another who will need some pace help to make his late charge count.
