Stalker is bred for the changes and has been competitive in two of three dirt sprints at this level. Trainer Doug O'Neill is adding blinkers. Reddam home bred can break his maiden in this spot.
2nd pick: #4 (Dano's Dream) (15-1) - Longshot has some early speed and is racing second back off 6.5-month layoff. Bred for the grass, he's moving up in class, stretching out in distance, and is on the turf for the first time.
3rd pick: #6 (Schiller Diller) (6-1) - One of two making their debuts, gelding is by turf champ 'Artie Schiller.' 3yo has been in steady training since early November and is from a capable barn (Mark Glatt). The morning drills are mostly of the stamina building variety, but he need not be much to factor against this group.
4th pick: #9 (The Golden Kid) (3-1) - Away slowly when debuting facing 'open' foes Jan. 16th, he raced evenly in the 'down the hill' contest. Trainer Jim Cassidy has worked him four times since, stretches him out, and has him in with fellow Cal breds in this spot.
