It was her first off a Phil D'Amato claim after she had finished 2nd in her first pair. He's worked her three times since her latest, and 4yo gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #12 (Darling Grace) (7-2) - Well bred filly has some speed and is racing first back off a pair of two-month layoffs. Daughter of 'Quality Road' is dropping to a new low, and trainer Ben Cecil adds blinkers. 4yo had a bullet five-furlong work here Jan. 2nd.
3rd pick: #5 (Racing Hope) (4-1) - Unraced since last March, she's working steadily and is taking a big drop in class. State bred has been competitive in all four starts when racing in claimers, and is a threat at this reduced level if ready.
4th pick: #3 (Dream Navigator) (12-1) - Speedy mare is dropping down in class, is switching from turf to dirt, and is shortening up a furlong. All those changes come in her second back from a seven-week freshening. Dangerous at a big price.
5th pick: #8 (Back Street Cat) (8-1) - Not a serious win candidate, but lightly raced filly is capable of getting a small slice at a square price.
