Premium Pick

Top pick: #13 (SHANIEL) (5-1) - Debuting colt cost owner/trainer Doug O'Neill $95K in March of 2013, and debuts this afternoon for a fraction of that amount. Working fast, he draws a nice outside post, is nicely spotted, and meets a weak field.

2nd pick: #4 (Gospel Music) (4-1) - He races first off a Pete Miller claim (205 winning angle), and gelding has gone 4-0-2-1 racing here in the past. Stalker fits, has a fast recent work, and is a win candidate.

3rd pick: #2 (Malibu Colony) (7-2) - Well bred gelding hasn't seen action since tiring badly in early Sept. on the Del Mar "poly" facing tougher. He has a new trainer (Phil D'Amato 25% with new arrivals) and is dropping in class and switching to real dirt.

4th pick: #6 (Play Maker) (6-1) - He takes a sizable drop in class and is racing second back from a seven week freshening. 4yo raced wide and evenly in his return for a $50K tag, and is a threat at this reduced level.

5th pick: #9 (Vavoom) (4-1) - Unraced since last August at Del Mar, he has some speed, takes a big drop, and is working well locally for his first on real dirt. A factor if ready.
