Beaten under a length in three of those, he has early speed, draws the rail, and is shortening up a furlong. In shape colt meets a largely inexperienced field and should get his elusive maiden win.
2nd pick: #9 (Lost Dutchman) (4-1) - Colt has been on the sidelines since debuting here at this level going 6.5 furlongs Dec 27. He set a pressured pace and held to finish fourth in a strong field that afternoon. Working steadily, trainer Doug O'Neill adds both blinkers and Bejarano.
3rd pick: #4 (Squash) (12-1) - One of two entered by trainer Ed Freeman, both are Reddam owned and bred and are by their successful stallion 'Square Eddie.' This gelding tired after dueling through fast fractions while between horses when debuting April 30 at Los Alamitos. Working nicely over at San Luis Rey Downs, blinkers go on for this attempt.
4th pick: #6 (Gio Mio) (10-1) - The field's most experienced maiden, he's been freshened up since late February. Stretch runner is working fast at Los Alamitos and is moving back to the dirt and is shortening up in distance.
