Hard-hitter has a speed/stalking style and has been competitive in three straight at this level. Six-year-old gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Matriculate) (8-5) - The morning line favorite, he missed by less than a length here at this level going a 1/16th farther May 13. Lightly raced 4-year-old finished in front of 'Prime Issue' that afternoon and is an obvious win candidate. I almost made him the top selection.
3rd pick: #3 (Tribal Again) (9-2) - He's also from the barn of trainer Pete Miller. Gelding showed nothing here sprinting at this level May 5. However, it was his first since Oct 10 and was not his best distance. Five-year-old loves this mile trip 6-1-4-1 and has been working fast for his second back from the seven month layoff.
4th pick: #1 (Silver Spirit) (8-1) - Un-raced since Feb 28, he went to the sidelines following a pair of back-to-back sub par races. Competitive in four straight prior to that, gelding by 'Tapit' is working well, has some positional speed, and draws the rail. Can factor at a square price with his best.
